Interview
How did you get started in music?
I grew up with two sisters in a household full of music and I took violin lessons since I was a kid. But it actually wasn`t until I discovered how to produce music myself that I picked up my violin and wrote arrangements myself.

Who or what has influenced you the most on your musical journey?
I think that I’m influenced way more by classical music than I’m ready to admit. Sometimes I listen to Johann Sebastian Bach thinking, “gosh, the way he constructed this melody here – just amazing“. Other than that I probably got influenced a lot by music I listened to growing up: Björk, all those Café del Mar compilations, Radiohead, German Hiphop, Kruder & Dorfmeister…
What tool/software do you use the most in your production – do you have a favorite sampler or effect that you always include?
I produce with Logic Pro X. What I need is a good microphone and good monitors. I actually love the Valhalla Vintage reverb – it just sounds pretty good on strings that can sound pretty screechy sometimes. Other than that I’m not that interested in the technical side of things. I actually just want to make music.
What do you enjoy outside of making music?
I enjoy an early cup of coffee when everybody else is still asleep. I like to go on a run by myself in nature. I like to step on wet grass in the morning. I love concerts and music. I like to cook, to draw and lately I’m even getting into dancing. It all fills me with life.
You’re currently working on an album that will also be released on cassette. Can you tell us something about it? What stage is it at, and who will be involved in the project?
This tape for me is a lot more than just an album. It’s a little music festival! I don’t just want to make the music, I want to take care of the artwork, too. And I want to include all those amazing people I met along the way. Soundwise there will be various tracks from pretty dusty boombap beats to cinematic tracks with pretty complex arrangements. All held together by my soft way of producing full off strings and voice-fragments. Artists involved so far are Low Key Trampoline, FlyingTengu, Fleureque, Lyhe, Vannorte, Solposto and GoldSoulLeo, Pepe Carvalho, Cuezy and Stræpa. I’m really excited about this project and I really appreciate this opportunity poetihop is giving me. I actually wouldn’t have had the confidence to tackle a project like that. So I`m pretty grateful poetihop encouraged me to do so, believing in my creative vision.
